Kill Occupy Wall Street for $850,000

As the Occupy Wall Street movement continues to garner support, the police have resorted to greater and greater acts of violence to defend the capitalist class. The media down plays the significance of the event as they make statements attempting to undermine the credibility of the movement. Political pundits make insulting remarks about the protesters, belittling the struggle they are going through. However it appears that the bankers themselves are quite worried at the continued momentum of the occupation.

According to MSNBC’s show “Up w/Chris Hayes”, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm CLGC (Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford) has secretly put forward a plan discredit and destroy the Occupy Wall Street Protest. The plan was drafted for the American Bankers Association (ABA). A memo on the plan shows how worried the capitalist banking class are about the popular anger towards the protest. In the memo they reveal that they expect the protest (if left unchecked) will go on much longer.

They also recognize an overlapping of popular anger directed towards them, anticipating that the announcement of bonuses this Christmas season will exacerbate the situation.

“well-known Wall Street companies stand at the nexus of where [Occupy Wall Street] protesters and the Tea Party overlap on angered populism. […] This combination has the potential to be explosive later in the year when media reports cover the next round of bonuses and contrast it with stories of millions of Americans making do with less this holiday season…

…undermine their credibility in a profound way, the firm outlined a plan to research activists’ financial backgrounds and civil and criminal information, and monitor social media. That way, the firm could create “fact-based negative narratives” about Occupy Wall Street “for high impact media placement to expose the backers of this movement.”

Its clear that the capitalist class is worried about the movement. The plan here is to attempt to take any leadership and remove it from the equation. It also plans to do the same thing that was done to WikiLeaks, eliminate its source of revenue. The plan really is to create a negative image of the protesters and their goals. Which I personally cast so doubt on doing because that is what they have done so far with the mainstream media. They’ll have to step up the accusations, create the illusion of an illegal threat. Or just completely fabricate a threat, something similar to Sun Media claiming Occupy Toronto will attack the Santa Claus parade,(hopefully they’ll do better than that). Perhaps they should just plant evidence in the protest. It would not be unthinkable for the police to plant explosives in the crowd claiming they were planning a violent action.

The plan to discredit doesn’t seem so original to me. Much of its elements seem to come directly from the Mohawk Valley Formula. Said to have been created by the president of the Remington Rand company James Rand, Jr., as a plan to discredit striking workers and turn public opinion against them. All the known elements of the CLGC plan appear to correspond with those of the Mohawk Valley Formula. I believe it to me a updated trick to deal with a different problem.

A spokesperson for American Bankers Association has stated publicly: “we chose not to act on it in any way.”

Finally, I end with this quote form the memo:

“(T)he bigger concern should be that Republicans will no longer defend Wall Street companies.”
