Israel Threatens After Credit Card Hack

The government of Israel is threatening retaliation after the credit cards of thousands of its citizens was published on line. Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon called it “a breach of sovereignty comparable to a terrorist operation, and must be treated as such.”

A hacker named OxOmar who claims to be Saudi Arabian citizen has claimed responsibility for the leaking of the information last Thursday. Reports on the incident claim that OxOmar is currently living in Mexico. An aide to Ayalon said they were aware OxOmar might be in Mexico, but have not yet requested assistance from Mexican authorities.

Danny Ayalon added:

“Israel has active capabilities for striking at those who are trying to harm it, and no agency or hacker will be immune from retaliatory action.”
