Right-wing terrorists in Venezuela have officially requested arms to carry out killings against the legitimate government of Nicholas Maduro. According to a report by CNN, Venezuelan Army defectors have made the request while living in exile. The soldiers have been identified as Carlos Guillen Martinez and Josue Hidalgo Azuaje.
“As Venezuelan soldiers, we are making a request to the US to support us, in logistical terms, with communication, with weapons, so we can realize Venezuelan freedom,” Martinez told CNN.
“We’re not saying that we need only US support, but also Brazil, Colombia, Peru, all brother countries that are against this dictatorship,” Azuaje added.
They have specifically requested arms in order to force the illegitimate leadership of Juan Guaido who unilaterally declared himself to be president only a week ago. Immediately after he was praised by the imperialist powers of the world. They proclaimed him to be the president as well, although they have no authority to do so. It should be noted that President Maduro won the election and the popular vote at 67%.
The US saw its efforts frustrated in trying to overthrow Maduro on more than one occasion. Three times the US has failed to assassinate him. This time they attempted to use a perversion of the Constitution to force him from power. The military has remained loyal to the rule of law and to the legitimate president of Maduro.
